Information Sharing

Working with mac-tech starts with a discovery of all software, hardware, and network services. With a clear picture of your tech environment, we can accurately document all work performed in our secure database to ensure consistent results.

Requesting Service

Service requests are received via phone or email, and assigned based on scope, urgency, and tech availability. Please use our contact form or email service@mac-tech.net. Our dispatcher uses this information to create a service ticket, determine whether onsite or remote support is indicated, and assign a tech; you will then be contacted for scheduling confirmation.

Technical Contact

Many clients route their service requests through a dedicated person in their organization. This helps define who is authorized to place service requests and streamlines the sign-off procedure, scheduling and communications.

The Service Call

During service, all relevant information is collected in our collaboration database, which can be referenced at any time by the mac-tech team. The technician has access to a detailed service history per device and client. At the end of the service call the technician can provide the client with a workorder, which has an overview of the performed steps and the time required for completion.

Travel Charge

We serve clients nationwide and internationally with secure remote support tools. On-site visits can be requested in the D.C. Metro Area and the New York Tri-State Area. There is no charge for on-site travel in Manhattan south of 96th street – all other destinations are subject to a charge based on hourly rate and one-way commute from the mac-tech offices.

Service Outlines

For new projects, we create a service outline that details the required steps, service cost and materials required. This outline helps mac-tech work with you to make decisions about service options, technologies and equipment.
Please note that we are not resellers of computer equipment. This business model avoids conflicts of interest that a consultant who works for a retailer can run into. As a result we can design and deliver higher quality and more cost efficient mac deployments. If a service outline requires the purchase of parts, these will be listed separately with purchase links to our preferred vendors. Prices quoted do not contain sales tax or shipping.

Project Plans

If the planned project is time sensitive or requires coordination with other service providers we can create a complete Project Plan that describes the interaction, sign-off and timeline.
